Your photo never leaves your device
How to do it
- Take a photo facing the camera, in good light, in front of a plain light wall. Show your shoulders.
- Choose the photo and the document. The guide appears: your chin goes on the red line and the top of your head inside the blue band.
- Drag with a finger or the mouse, pinch to zoom, or use the arrow keys and + / −. Press "Make photo" and download it.
Tips
- Ask someone to take the photo at eye level from about 1.5 m: selfies distort the face.
- Light your face from the front (facing a window) so there are no shadows on the face or the wall.
- If your head is slightly tilted, straighten it with ↺ and ↻.
Questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser crops the photo on your own device and nothing is sent to any server.
Does it find my face automatically?
No. You place your face in the guide: you stay in control and no AI looks at your face.
Does it change the background colour?
No. Swapping a background cleanly around hair is not reliable, and several countries (UK, US) reject edited photos. Take the photo in front of a plain wall of the colour your document needs.
Which resolution should I pick?
300 dpi is enough for printing and keeps the file small. 600 dpi gives more detail for a photo lab. The dpi is stored in the photo, so it prints at its real size.
